Aaron T. Baier serves as Executive Director for Access to Independence. Aaron oversees all operations and program staff to ensure high quality services. Aaron works with community partners to help deliver resources and advocacy to people with disabilities, their families and caregivers. Aaron strives to develop meaningful relationships with local nonprofits, businesses, donors and foundations, and community members to explore innovative and collectively promote independence and inclusion. The future is accessible because we are better together!
Susan Lewis serves as Independent Living Coordinator for Access to Independence.Sue provides independent living skills training and peer counseling to consumers one-on-one and in class settings. Sue is a Certified Benefits Counselor and manages the agency’s work relating to nursing facility transitions and diversions. Sue also provides operations support for the management of consumer data.
Sherry Lewis serves as the Finance Manager for Access To Independence. In this role, Sherry will oversee all aspects of the Agency’s budgeting and bookkeeping as well as provide assistance in the areas of human resources and grant writing. Sherry brings her expertise and experience to help Access To Independence grow and continue work towards its mission.
Rachel Anderson serves as Community Education Coordinator for Access to Independence (ATI). Rachel develops, coordinates and presents educational and outreach programs about disability issues to diverse audiences. Rachel coordinates ATI's participation in the Core Advisory Group (CAG) for Emergency Preparedness and the Taskforce for Increasing Disability Employment (TIDE). Rachel also provides specialized work readiness and youth transition services.
John M. Quinn serves as Senior Architectural Access Design Specialist for Access to Independence (ATI). John completes architectural drawings and provides essential scope-of-work design and development in the implementation of architectural barrier removal services provided through the DHCR Access to Home program, the DDSO and a variety of other fee-based programs. John is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist and has more than 20 years experience in the construction field.
Anne Marie Piche serves as Transition Specialist for Access to Independence. Anne works with service providers, as well as social workers in nursing homes, to coordinate the access and delivery of community-based supports and services to individuals interested in home and community-based sevices rather than institutional-based services. Anne identifies and helps to eradicate barriers to community integration. Anne also coordinate's the Agency's collaboration with the Cortland County Area Agency on Aging on its NY Connects initiative.
Todd Simmons serves as Transition Specialist for Access to Independence. Todd works with service providers, as well as social workers in nursing homes, to coordinate the access and delivery of community-based supports and services to individuals interested in home and community-based sevices rather than institutional-based services. Todd identifies and helps to eradicate barriers to community integration. Todd also provides specialized housing assistance services for the Agency’s Olmstead Housing Subsidy and Independent Living initiatives.
Braedon Sopp serves as Administrative & Program Assistant for Access to Independence. Braedon provides advanced administrative and program support for the Agency’s various programs. Braedon provides primary oversight of reception protocols and coordinates the Agency’s consumer computer lab, community room, video & book resource loan closet, craft club and coloring club. Braedon also provides primary support for the Agency's various fundraising efforts.
